Chief Financial Officer / Chief Operating Officer

In 2009, the iPhone was "the new thing" and Chuck was working on his Instrument Rating. He started to write “an App” with the goal of experimenting with this new technology in hopes of making his Instrument training more efficient. When he shared it with friends it gained momentum pretty quickly and in 2011 CloudAhoy was founded with friends and family as co-founders. Up until today, CloudAhoy has been run by Chuck & Tani Shavit. With continuous growth in general aviation, military / Air Force, flight schools, fleet managers and more, we are looking to expand the Executive Team by adding a Chief Financial Officer / Chief Operating Officer.

We are looking for an individual to join us in the role of Chief Financial Officer / Chief Operating Officer, and be a partner in leading CloudAhoy in the next stage of growth. This person needs to be a hands-on executive, combining attention to detail with thinking BIG. They should have the ability to get totally excited about new ideas while at the same time being both practical and realistic. A successful candidate should also be a good fit to our company culture and values: importance of product quality, appreciation of customers, appreciation and respect of partners, being part of the aviation ecosystem.   • Oversee the company’s fiscal activity, including budgeting, reporting, and auditing
  • Oversee the company's operational activities
  • Oversee contracts with customers and partners
  • Oversee legal activities working with our legal counsel
  • Oversee recruiting and HR activities
  • Oversee quotes, invoices, money handling procedures, accounting and bank processes
  • Preparing timely and accurate financial performance reports
  • Assessing and implementing improved processes and new technologies
  • Be an active part of the executive team and the whole CloudAhoy team, initiate and participate in everything where your skills, talent and experience can contribute

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Senior leadership experience
  • Experience with start-up and mid-sized companies
  • Strong execution ability
  • Recruiting and team management experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline, Masters degree or MBA
  • Strong financial and accounting background, including an understanding of profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow management and general finance and budgeting
  • Experience with corporate governance
  • Being a pilot or having other personal / professional affiliation with aviation is a big plus.

Location: Near Lexington, MA is preferable; other options may be considered.
